SWOSU Makes Top 25 List by MSN

Southwestern Oklahoma State University with campus locations in Weatherford and Sayre has made a top 25 list for the best universities in the nation.

MSN—a world-wide network operated by Microsoft—ranked more than 1,600 schools across the country based on affordability, flexibility and other quantitative factors and came up with the top 25 list. SWOSU is #18.

SWOSU is the second smallest university to make the rankings.

SWOSU President Randy Beutler said there are all sorts of rankings by various groups but MSN is a well-known, world-wide operation by a prestigious company and SWOSU is pleased to be included.

“SWOSU has enjoyed six straight fall and spring semester enrollment increases, which is unheard of right now in Oklahoma,” Beutler said. “Southwestern Oklahoma State University has an impressive academic reputation for its many quality programs, and people are understanding the value of an education at SWOSU.”

In order to get a good picture of the best four-year colleges in the U.S., MSN gathered substantial data from the U.S. Department of Education and analyzed it through a rigorous 13-point system. “These type of achievements is not possible without quality students, faculty and staff,” Beutler said.

Oklahoma had three of the top 25 universities with the University of Oklahoma at #8 and Oklahoma State University at #10.
