Carpenter

Position 3

Lake Carpenter was the valedictorian of the Butler High School Class of 1995 and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southwestern Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science and an endorsement in Physical Education in 1999.  He is Senior Vice President at Bank of Western Oklahoma and serves as Minister of Music at the First Baptist Church of Leedey. 

Lake serves on the Board of Directors and is the President Elect of the Western Oklahoma Bankers Association.  He has been a member of the Elk City Rotary Club serving as President, receiving the Paul Harris Fellow Award, and participating in the Elk City Meals on wheels program since 2000.  He is currently serving on the national board of directors for Cure JM.  Lake is involved in the Elk City Chamber of Commerce serving on the Ambassador Committee, Oklahoma National Junior Heifer Show Committee, and as a past board member.

His passion for education and learning has led him to be involved in a number of organizations that affect the youth of today and their future.  He is a founding board member for the Leedey Public School Mentor Program and an active mentor.  He has also been on the Miss Elk City & Miss Queen of the West Pageant board since 2001 and a certified Miss Oklahoma Judge since 2010.  He has had the opportunity to see many contestants use the pageant system to continue to grow, pay for their education, and become very successful.  Lake volunteers with the Special Olympics and has worked as an AWANA volunteer since 2011. 

Charitable work is a passion of the Carpenter family.  They have been involved in Jump Rope for Heart, American Cancer Society’s “Relay for Life”, and are dedicated to CureJM, a research organization searching for a cure for juvenile myositis.  Lake and his girls love to sing and entertain.

 

They use their talent at a variety of events for local charities, theatres, and civic organizations.     

Lake and his wife, Kalee, have two beautiful daughters, who are involved in a variety of activities. Lake uses any spare time to work on the farm with cattle and horses.
